Billing and Insurance

Audiology benefits depend on your individual insurance plan. We may be participating or allied providers; however, that does not guarantee payment. Please contact your insurance carrier to confirm that audiology services are included on your plan before your office visit.

In order for Medicare to cover audiological testing you MUST be referred by a physician for a medical reason and we must have that written referral on file. If you have Medicare, please obtain this referral from your physician or have it faxed to our office at 864-888-3838.

Other insurances may require a phsyician referral: please check with your insurance to determine if this is required. Please call our office if you have any questions.

Getting Ready for Your Appointment

1. Appointment Confirmation

Our office will contact you prior to your appointment to confirm the time and day. We would appreciate the courtesy of informing us if you cannot keep your appointment at least 24 hours in advance. That way we can offer that time to someone else who needs our help. Thank you for your kindness.

2. Don't Forget ID & Insurance Cards

We are required to obtain copies of an acceptable form of ID and your insurance card. Please inform our patient care coordinator if any of your insurance information has changed.

3. If you are scheduled for a hearing test, it is very important your ears are clear of wax occlusions

You will be scheduled for a Pre-Test Evaluation appointment in order to ensure that your ears are clear. If not, we will request that you either see your primary care physician for wax removal, or we can refer you to an ear doctor prior to your scheduled testing.

4. If you are coming in for Bluetooth help, please make sure your phone software is updated.

If you are coming in for a hearing aid check due to any blue tooth issues, please make sure that your cell phone software is up to date. We cannot update it for you, so if it is not updated, your appointment will need to be rescheduled.

The hearing aid in my "good" ear broke during the holidays and I missed a lot of conversations from family and friends. I made an appointment with Oconee Audiology for January 21 for a hearing test. Dr. Greb was wonderful after determining I needed a more powerful hearing aid. I am on an extremely strict budget and she helped find one to suit my needs and budget. Very good initial impressions. Nice office in a convenient location and everyone was extremely friendly and helpful. After a brief consultation with Dr. Greb, she conducted a thorough series of hearing tests and then discussed options regarding preferences and expectations. We were then introduced to Sarah to choose colors and confirm final selection of hearing aids. Very easy process and will include setup, training, and follow up appointments. Based on today’s session, I expect complete satisfaction.

I went to Oconee Audiology for a simple hearing test. Dr. Greb and her staff made it the best experience I have ever had from an audiologist. Dr. Greb took the time to explain my test results and compared them to my last exam from another facility. She never tried to sell me new hearing aids. Instead she made me feel totally comfortable and strongly encouraged me to have my current hearing aids adjusted from the place I bought them. I never felt rushed but felt that she wanted me to have the best hearing capability possible. She rightfully and politely scolded me for not wearing my hearing aids daily and explained why. I appreciated that concern. Dr. Greb has earned my trust for future needs.
